Open-cell spray foam is lighter and softer, making it great for interior walls and sound control. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and has a higher R-value, which is ideal for basements, exterior walls, garages, and areas needing moisture protection. Both options provide excellent air sealing — and we’ll advise you on the best choice based on your space and insulation goals.
In many homes, blown-in insulation can be added on top of existing material to increase R-value and improve efficiency. However, if the old insulation is wet, moldy, damaged, or contaminated by pests, it should be removed first. We’ll inspect your attic and advise you on the safest and most effective approach for your home.
Spray foam can reduce noise, especially open-cell foam, which helps absorb sound inside walls and floors. While it’s not a full soundproofing solution, it does significantly reduce airborne noise between rooms and levels of a home. We’ll help you choose the right foam type if sound control is one of your goals.
Spray foam must be applied directly to open wall cavities, so it can’t be installed behind finished drywall without removing sections first. If you want spray foam in already finished areas, we’ll assess the space and recommend the best approach — whether that’s selective drywall removal, insulating from an accessible side, or using an alternative method that works for your project.
